2026年干支手ぬぐい「天翔ける神馬（あまかけるしんめ）」
2026年の午歳（うまどし）をお祝いする干支手ぬぐいです。日本最高峰・霊峰富士を目指して天空を駆ける姿を、鮮やかな朱色の地に黒の濃淡のぼかしで染め上げました。
新年の初日の出と共に福をもたらすとされる年神さま。その遣いとしてその年を司る干支の動物を飾る風習は古くからあり、「午」は活力や成長、前進を象徴する縁起の良い干支です。
馬は古来より神と人をつなぐ神聖な存在とされ、神社では「神馬（しんめ）」として祀られてきました。手ぬぐいに描かれている神馬が目指すのは日本の象徴であり信仰の対象でもある富士山。富士は高みや目標、頂点を表すシンボルであり、「ふじ」の語呂合わせから長寿や不老不死の縁起物、美しい円錐形から完成・安定・調和の意味を持ち、日本人の心のよりどころとされています。
富士を目指して空を駆ける神馬の姿には、希望や飛躍の願いが込められています。

Tenugui : Zodiac Sign – The Divine Horse Soaring to the Sky
This Eto Tenugui celebrates the zodiac sign of the Horse for the year 2026. It depicts a divine steed galloping through the sky toward the sacred peak of Mt. Fuji, dyed in a vivid vermilion background with graceful gradations of black.
Since ancient times in Japan, it has been a tradition to display the zodiac animal of the year— the divine messenger of the Toshigami, the deity who brings blessings with the first sunrise of the New Year. The Horse symbolizes vitality, growth, and progress, and is considered a most auspicious sign.
In Shinto belief, horses are sacred beings that connect the divine and the human. Known as shinme (divine horses), they are enshrined in shrines as messengers of the gods.
In this design, the sacred horse gallops toward Mt. Fuji, a national symbol and object of reverence, representing aspiration, achievement, and harmony.
Its name “Fuji” also carries connotations of longevity and immortality in Japanese culture.
The image of the horse soaring toward Mt. Fuji embodies hope and the wish for success and advancement.
