市松柄（チェック）の中で黒猫、白猫、三毛猫がかくれんぼ。肉球や足跡、しっぽが見え隠れ。ふわふわ・もふもふの猫柄を熟練の職人が注染てぬぐいに染め上げました。イラストレーターの大沢麻衣子による原画作品シリーズです。
猫は暗いところでも目が見えるので魔除けや幸運の縁起物とされ、一緒に暮らすとポジティブなパワーと幸運を家族にもたらすと言われています。また、市松模様江戸時代の歌舞伎役者・佐野川市松が舞台衣裳で愛用し、大流行したことから名前が付いたという連続文様で、繁栄の意味が込められています。

Tenugui “Lattice Pattern with Cats (blue)”
This is a hand towel with a checkered pattern of cute cats peeking out here and there with various expressions. They are playing with toys, lying down, and other cute gestures that cat lovers will recognize.
The traditional Japanese pattern “ichimatsu pattern” was named after the Edo period Kabuki actor Ichimatsu Sanogawa, who used it as his stage costume and it became very popular. This checkerboard pattern and the blue color remind us of Japanese culture in a cute and chic way.
