手ぬぐいのれん「福・椿鉢＆長春・葡萄鉢」
書と篆刻の達人で、稀代の美食家として知られた北大路魯山人の「椿鉢」と「葡萄鉢」と魯山人の文字を模写し染め上げた手ぬぐいを丁寧にのれんに仕立てました。
椿鉢は魯山人の作品の中でも最も有名なひとつです。陶器に描かれている椿にはそれぞれの色に花言葉があり、赤い椿には「謙虚な美徳」、白い椿には「完全な美しさ」、黄色の椿には「理想の愛」という意味が込められています。まさに魯山人の作品のような美徳を表しているようです。
「葡萄鉢」もまた魯山人の代表作で、花の絶えることのない常春を意味する「長春」と長く伸びる蔓を持つ「葡萄」を描いた焼き物の組み合わせは招福を呼びます。また、葡萄の花言葉は「信頼」「思いやり」「親切」という意味が込められています。
格調高い絵柄は和室にも洋室にもインテリアとして美しく映えます。手ぬぐい生地で制作したのれんは洗濯ができるので、汚れが付きやすいキッチンや玄関先にも気兼ねなくお使いいただけます。

Tenugui Noren: “Happiness – Camellia Bowl & Eternal Spring – Grape Bowl”
This elegant Noren curtain is crafted from Tenugui dyed with designs inspired by the works and calligraphy of Kitaoji Rosanjin, a master of calligraphy, seal carving, and a legendary gourmet. The designs feature Rosanjin’s famous “Camellia Bowl” (Tsubaki-Bachi) and “Grape Bowl” (Budou-Bachi), along with his distinctive handwritten characters.
The Camellia Bowl is one of Rosanjin’s most iconic works. The camellia flowers depicted on the pottery carry unique meanings based on their color: red symbolizes “humble virtue,” white represents “absolute beauty,” and yellow conveys “ideal love.” These meanings beautifully reflect the virtues expressed in Rosanjin’s creations.
The Grape Bowl is another masterpiece by Rosanjin. The motif combines “eternal spring” (Choushun), symbolized by the constant blossoming of flowers, with grapes, which are associated with prosperity due to their long, winding vines. Grapes also carry the meanings of “trust,” “thoughtfulness,” and “kindness,” making this design a symbol of good fortune.
The refined patterns of these Noren are perfect as interior decor, seamlessly blending into both Japanese-style and Western-style rooms. Made from Tenugui fabric, this Noren is washable, making it ideal for use in areas like the kitchen or entryway where dirt might accumulate.
