手ぬぐい「あやめ」 原画：影山のり子
初夏を彩るあやめの花を色鮮やかに染め上げた手ぬぐいです。
花言葉は「吉報」「うれしい便り」。あやめはかきつばたとよく似ており、昔から「いずれは菖蒲か杜若」とも言われています。実際はあやめより花も葉も大きく、葉の真ん中に線がないので簡単に見分けることができます。
涼しげな青と白でゆったりと描かれていて、初夏の爽やかな空気が感じられます。風に揺られている様子は涼しげで、のれんなど夏のインテリアにおすすめです。

Tenugui : Ayame ー Irises sanguinea
This tenugui is dyed with vivid colors of ilis flowers blooming in early summer. The language of the iris flower is “good news” and “glad tidings”. Ilis flowers are similar to those of oysterflowers. In fact, the flowers and leaves are larger than those of the iris, and there is no line down the middle of the leaves, so it is easy to tell them apart. It is drawn loosely in cool blue and white, giving a sense of the fresh air of early summer.The way it flutters in the breeze is cool, and is recommended for summer interiors such as goodwill.
