手ぬぐい「麻の葉（黒）」 江戸小紋
日本の伝統文様「麻の葉文様」をシックな黒で染め上げました。
麻の葉文様は六角形状に六個の菱形を結んだ幾何学文様で、麻の葉の形に似ていることから名付けられました。江戸時代の歌舞伎俳優・五代目岩井半四郎が「お七」の役を演じた際に、麻の葉文様の着物を着たことで流行、現代も繊細で美しい江戸小紋として親しまれています。
風水では調和を表す六角形の中に、魔除けを表す三角形が構成されていることから、麻の葉文様は最強の魔除けの文様とされています。また、麻は丈夫ですくすくと伸びることから、その生命力に肖ろうと赤ちゃんの産着や下着などによく用いられています。
絵柄に込められた縁起の良い意味と共にお正月飾りやお年賀、誕生日プレゼントや出産祝い・初節句祝いなどおめでたい時節のプレゼントにおすすめ。また、日本の伝統工芸品「手拭」は外国の方へのギフトやおみやげにも喜ばれます。

Tenugui : Asanoha Pattern (Black)
This tenugui features the traditional Japanese “Asanoha” (hemp leaf) pattern, beautifully dyed in chic black against a white background. The geometric design consists of six diamonds arranged in a hexagonal shape, reminiscent of hemp leaves—hence its name.
The Asanoha motif gained popularity during the Edo period, especially after the famed kabuki actor Iwai Hanshirō V wore a kimono with this pattern while performing the role of “Oshichi.” Today, it remains beloved as a fine example of Edo komon, admired for its delicate and elegant style.
In feng shui, the hexagon symbolizes harmony, and the embedded triangles are said to ward off evil—making the Asanoha pattern one of Japan’s strongest protective motifs. Moreover, since hemp grows fast and strong, the pattern has traditionally been used in baby clothing, symbolizing health and vitality.
This tenugui is ideal for celebratory occasions such as New Year decorations, seasonal gifts, birthdays, baby gifts, and first festival (Hatsuzekku) celebrations. As a piece of traditional Japanese craftsmanship, it also makes a perfect souvenir or gift for international visitors.
