手ぬぐい扇子「おむすび」
麻の葉オリジナルの手ぬぐい「おむすび」を扇面に仕立てた扇子です。
おむすびは、日本の暮らしに古くから寄り添ってきた、素朴で親しみ深い食べものです。米を手で結び、人へ渡すという何気ない行為には、日々の営みや思いやりの心が感じられます。「結び」という言葉の響きから、人と人との縁を思わせる、あたたかな意味合いも持っています。
白地に描かれたおむすびの絵柄は、梅干し、海苔、ごま塩など、ひとつひとつ表情が異なります。素朴なモチーフでありながら、おしゃれに仕上がっています。
ふんわりと広がる貝殻型のフォルムは、おむすびの丸みのある絵柄ともよく合い、やさしく親しみやすい佇まいを生み出します。日本の日常に根ざしたモチーフを、遊び心のある和小物として楽しめる、麻の葉らしい手ぬぐい扇子です。

Tenugui Folding Fan :Omusubi
This fan is made using Asanoha’s original tenugui design, “Omusubi,” for the fan surface.
Omusubi, or Japanese rice balls, have long been a familiar and comforting part of everyday life in Japan. The simple act of shaping rice by hand and offering it to someone carries a sense of daily care, warmth, and thoughtfulness. The word “musubi,” meaning “to tie” or “to connect,” also evokes the idea of bonds between people, giving this motif a gentle and heartfelt meaning.
The omusubi illustrated on the white background each have their own character, with details such as umeboshi, nori seaweed, and sesame salt. Although the motif is simple and familiar, the design has a refined and playful charm.
The softly spreading shell-shaped form of the fan pairs beautifully with the rounded shapes of the omusubi, creating a warm and approachable impression. Rooted in everyday Japanese life, this motif can be enjoyed as a playful yet elegant Japanese accessory—an expression of Asanoha’s distinctive tenugui style.
