夜空に広がる大輪花火を眺めて夏祭りを楽しんでいる黒猫、白猫、三毛猫。スイカを狙っていたり花火を怖がったり、夏休みの思い出がいっぱい。ふわふわ・もふもふの猫を熟練の職人が注染てぬぐいに染め上げました。イラストレーターの大沢麻衣子による原画作品シリーズです。
猫は暗いところでも目が見えるので魔除けや幸運の縁起物とされ、一緒に暮らすとポジティブなパワーと幸運を家族にもたらすと言われています。

Tenugui : Nekotachi no Natsu (Cats in Summer)
Black cats, white cats, and calicos gather to enjoy a summer festival under brilliant fireworks lighting up the night sky. Some mischievously eye a watermelon, others seem startled by the loud bursts—each scene is filled with the joys and memories of summer. These fluffy, playful cats are brought to life on this tenugui through the traditional chusen dyeing technique, meticulously crafted by skilled artisans.
The original artwork is by illustrator Maiko Osawa, known for her charming and heartwarming designs.
Cats are believed to bring good fortune and ward off evil, as their keen eyesight even in the dark symbolizes protection and luck. It’s said that living with cats invites positive energy and happiness to the family.
