Art Tenugui "Name succession ceremony"

In Kabuki theater, “Shumei Hiro” are naming ceremonies held to announce actors’ new stage-names to the audience. These stage-names are often those of the actor’s father, grandfather or master and are passed down between generations of actor’s lineages.
This Art Tenugui represents several Kabuki actors in ‘Hakama’ (traditional clothing) who are kneeling for greeting their audience at the occasion of the ‘Shumei’ naming ceremony. New stage-names are associated with certain roles or acting styles, the actor should live up to these expectations, embodying the spirit, performance style of predecessors adding its own performance skills to be passed down to future generations to come.
